Conveyor chute (Trough conveyor)

Conveyor chute  or Trough conveyor is a mechanical device that transports material or bags with the help of gravity. We use Trough conveyors for scrap and bag handling etc.

Types of conveyor chute

 According to the needs of application conveyor chute are of different types.

1) Straight / Inclined         2) Spiral / Curved

1) Straight/Inclined chute

Straight / Inclined chute is planted where there is a lot of space in the plants. They are simple in design. Mostly they are flat. We can keep them within 8 to 10 degrees so that the handling material can flow easily. Their surfaces are always smooth. As far as possible they should be made with a single plate so that there is no damage to the handling material. It has a skirt board on both sides. It should be fitted with a small rod on either side of the skirt board and flat plate so that there is no damage.

2) Spiral/Curved chute

Spiral / Curved chutes are very complicated in design but they required very less space as compare to Straight / Inclined. We can keep them within 8 to 10 degrees so that the handling material can flow easily. We should design their profile very carefully because the skirt board in it is  made by bending the plate on which the material flows. The skirt board is also folded at a particular angle. In the Spiral / Curved chute, a small profile is weld around a hollow vertical rod. We fix the vertical rod with  the ground. We grind the welding part with the help of a grinder. In this we place a small rod at the ends of the plate, so that there is no problem in the handling material.

 

Features

1) Conveyor chute surface should be smooth.

2) There should be very less dynamic friction.

3) This conveying system is much less expensive than any other conveying system, as they are operated with gravity and do not require any external power.

Application

1) We use this chute to move the material from one floor to another floor.

2) We use these types of chutes are in cement, lime and gypsum industries.

3) We use these types of chutes are also in food industries.

4) We use these types of chutes are also in pharmaceutical industries.
